How much light is too much light?

An experiment in excessively high light levels

An experiment with the PhytoMAX-2 800 in a 3x3 foot tent to show what happens when plants get too much light. While some of the strains we regularly work with can handle this level of light, most plants like this 'Rainmaker' start suffering and don't maximize their yield when light levels get above 1500 μmol/m2/s of PPFD.

An extra mother plant was used for this test, and despite being an incredibly robust plant, about halfway through flower the plant started showing signs of stress from too much light- the leaves turned red and finally brown, and the buds never achieved the same size they would have under more appropriate light levels.
